A's reinstate O'Flaherty from disabled list

The A's reinstated left-handed pitcher Eric O’Flaherty from the 15-day disabled list and optioned right-handed pitcher Angel Castro to Triple-A Nashville, the team announced Tuesday morning.

O’Flaherty is 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA in eight relief appearances with the A’s this season. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list May 2 with a strained left shoulder. O’Flaherty began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville May 27 and was transferred to Single-A Stockton May 30. He did not allow an earned run, walk a batter or record a strikeout over 2.0 innings in two rehab appearances overall.

Castro joined the A’s for the second time this year on May 30 and did not appear in a game prior to being optioned today.
