The Oakland A’s reinstated left-handed pitcher Sean Doolittle from the 15-day disabled list and recalled catcher Matt McBride from Triple-A Nashville, the club announced Friday. The A’s also reinstated right-handed pitcher Jesse Hahn from the 15-day DL and optioned him to Nashville.
Doolittle was 2-2 with four saves and a 2.93 ERA in 35 relief appearances when he was placed on the 15-day disabled list June 30 retroactive to June 26 with a strained left shoulder. Opponents were batting .218 and he issued just eight walks against 35 strikeouts. Doolittle made six rehab appearances with Triple-A Nashville beginning Aug.
