OAKLAND -- The A's summoned additional outfield help Friday, recalling Matt Olson from Triple-A Nashville a day after Rajai Davis sustained a mild left hamstring injury.
Davis is considered day to day, with manager Bob Melvin saying it "might be a day or two" before the veteran is back in the lineup. Regardless, there was a need for a fourth bench player, prompting Olson's arrival.
Ranked by MLB Pipeline as the club's No. 18 prospect, Olson was a first-round selection in the 2012 Draft, but has yet to cement his place in the big leagues.
