A’s players will wear nicknames on the back of their jerseys during the final weekend in August, with some more creative than others.
It’s all part of Major League Baseball’s inaugural “Players Weekend” set for Aug. 25-27. Players will be allowed to wear non-traditional uniforms, along with wristbands, batting gloves and other pieces of gear that typically don’t fall within MLB’s strict guidelines for attire. Players can also wear T-shirts highlighting a particular charity or cause during their pregame workouts and/or postgame interviews.
You have to like a couple of the A’s nicknames that will be worn on jerseys, like “Baby Prince” (Bruce Maxwell) and “Slydah” (Liam Hendriks).
