ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The morning after the worst outing of his career, A’s starter Andrew Triggs was placed on the disabled list with a left hip strain.
Triggs, who allowed eight runs in Oakland’s 13-4 loss, said the issue cropped up few days before his start but he didn’t believe it to be major.
“It had been kind of a minor nuisance for a little while and then it kind of escalated between my side session and the game,” Triggs said. “We’re always pitching with little aches and pains, so I didn’t think much of it, but it started to really bug me during the game.
