ANAHEIM - Matt Joyce was suspended for two games Saturday for his use of a homophobic slur during Friday night’s game at Anaheim, and according to sources, the A’s will donate the more than $54,000 that Joyce will forfeit in salary to PFLAG.

Joyce responded to a text from The Chronicle by saying he will speak to reporters at Angel Stadium, and he sent out a series of tweets early Saturday afternoon, saying, “In regard to last night's incident, I first and foremost want to sincerely apologize to the fans, the Oakland A's, MLB and most importantly the LGBTQ community for my comments and actions.
