For a ballclub hardly embracing the city it’s inhabiting, the Athletics sure are touchy about their own players criticizing their own stadium. Case in point: Just two days after Luis Severino openly complained about Sutter Health Park once again, the A’s are now reportedly itching to get him off the team.
This all started up again Friday when Severino chatted with Brendan Kuty, Yankees staff writer for the Athletic, and the longtime Yankee pitcher shared his displeasure with his West Sacramento office. His frustrations were as follows: The games feel like spring training affairs, the atmosphere among fans is mediocre, the home dugout faces the hot California sun, and the clubhouse doesn’t have air conditioning.
