MESA, Ariz. - Promising young starter Daniel Gossett, who climbed three levels of Oakland’s system last year, was sent to minor-league camp Sunday, but his is a name to keep in mind.
“We were really impressed,” manager Bob Melvin said. “Typically over the course of the season, we run through a number of guys and he knows he is now in line for one of those spots. His job is to go down and continue to perform and develop in the fashion we’ve seen. If he continues to do that, it won’t be long before he’s here.
