ANAHEIM — Without the presence of their All-Star first baseman, the A’s did more than amass a season-high of 18 hits, match their season best of seven doubles and add three home runs.

The A’s rallied from a five-run deficit in the seventh and eighth innings to earn an 11-10 victory over the Los Angeles Angels in front of 38,278 at Angel Stadium.

Before the game, the A’s traded Yonder Alonso to the Seattle Mariners for minor-league outfielder Boog Powell. Alonso’s 22 home runs are the most by an Oakland first baseman since Jason Giambi hit 38 in 2001.
