MESA, AZ — Rebuilding in baseball can be both a frustrating and fruitful experience for some teams. While losses mount, squads stockpile valuable prospects with the hope they can someday form a championship-caliber roster.
The A’s have a youth surge they believe is about ready to make that leap.
“We have a lot of young guys,” A’s manager Bob Melvin said. “You see us bringing guys over from the minor league camp now that we’re playing, too. That shows you how deep we are with young players in our system, so it’s an exciting time.
