BALTIMORE - Shortstop Marcus Semien, who exited Monday’s game because of wrist discomfort, was not in Oakland’s lineup Tuesday and might be out until Friday.
Manager Bob Melvin said that with Thursday’s offday, the team might elect to give Semien a little extra rest. Semien, who had right wrist surgery April 18, said that he was bothered by some scar-tissue issues during Monday’s game. “I just never got loose,” he said.
Melvin said that Semien was much improved Tuesday but the training staff wanted to give him an extra day off at least to make sure everything had calmed down.
