OAKLAND — Bob Melvin finds it “cool” that the Houston Astros are tearing off wins in the wake of Hurricane Harvey’s tragic run through the Texas Gulf Coast.
The A’s manager certainly hopes that his squad can cool off the Astros, who’ve won six games in a row, when they come to the East Bay for a four-game set at the Oakland Coliseum Friday, but he certainly appreciates what the American League West’s top team is doing for the city of Houston as it attempts to rebound from last week’s devastation.
“Everybody’s hearts feels for those guys and I’m glad they got back and played in Houston soon after,” Melvin said.
