A’s lose on old friend Josh Donaldson’s homer in 10th

The mere mention of Josh Donaldson’s name can still bother A’s fans. Not for what Donaldson did with the A’s. But for what the A’s did to Donaldson.

The November 2014 trade that sent Donaldson from Oakland to Toronto hasn’t been forgotten in these parts, especially because the third baseman continued to produce.

He returned to the Coliseum this week and capped his three-game visit Wednesday with a 10th-inning home run that sunk his old team 7-5, preventing the A’s from their first sweep of the season.

Donaldson stepped to the plate after Kevin Pillar was plunked by Frankie Montas and sent a 1-2 slider high over wall in left-center.
