A’s lose in 12; old friend Suzuki homers twice

How low can the A’s go? Hopefully for the A’s, not as low as those low fives exhibited by Kurt Suzuki and Ron Washington.

The A’s lost their fifth straight game Sunday afternoon -- seventh straight at home -- largely because Suzuki haunted them with two stunning home runs that lifted the Braves to a 4-3 victory in 12 innings, completing a three-game sweep.

It was the second-half opener for the A’s, who don’t want to repeat a first half in which they won just 35 games and got rid of Stephen Vogt, Trevor Plouffe and Curt Young as part of the latest major turnover.
