The A’s pitching rotation took another hit Wednesday when right-hander Trevor Cahill, who has been dominant in his second stint in Oakland, was placed on the disabled list with an elbow impingement.
Cahill was 1-1 in four starts with a 2.25 ERA since being recalled from Triple-A Nashville on April 17, including a career-high 12 strikeouts in six innings against Baltimore in his last start.
There was no immediate word on what treatment Cahill will undergo or how long he’ll be sidelined. He was signed in March to help the A’s overcome the loss of starter Jharel Cotton, who underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery.
