Reliever John Axford said Saturday that he’s probably just days away from resuming throwing as he recovers from a right shoulder strain.
Axford said he had some issues Wednesday with sock throws - throwing a baseball down the length of a long sock to mimic a normal delivery - but he believes that was because he found the sock toss “really awkward.”
“We’re just being a little cautious,” he said Saturday. “Next tme I throw it will just be regular throwing on the field, coming up soon. The way things have progressed, it’s been positive, no issues.
