OAKLAND — There are foul balls that land right in someone’s glove while they’re sitting in the stands.
Then there’s what happened to one surprised A’s fan Sunday. Sitting in the second deck with friends on a sun-drenched afternoon at the Coliseum, this fan had a foul ball come arching his way, bounce around and land right in his cup of beer.
Not one to let a $10 microbrew go to waste, the fan stood up, raised his cup in triumph and downed what was left of his beverage, with the baseball still in there.
“Really it just ricocheted right off the back of the seat and landed in the beer and we said, ‘Ok, well I gotta stand up and drink it,” the fan explained.
