John Henry and Tom Werner tried to hire Billy Beane once, but they haven't come calling a second time.
Beane, the A's executive vice president of baseball operations, appeared on the Liverpool Echo's Blood Red podcast, and was asked if the analytics-focused Boston Red Sox owners, who also oversee Liverpool FC, have tried to coax him to the newly crowned Premier League champions.
"No. It's flattering that you ask, but we are friends," Beane told host Matt Addison. "They know I follow the club and they know I'm a huge fan, but no, they've got more-than-capable people.
