ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The A’s will get another glimpse as part of their future Wednesday with the confirmation that right-hander Daniel Gossett will be called up to start against Miami.
Gossett, 24, was Oakland’s second-round pack in the 2014 draft. He’ll be taking the rotation spot of Andrew Triggs, who went on the disabled list Saturday after suffering some left hip pain in his start Friday.
“You like to get a guy here when he’s pitching well for his debut, and he has been,” manager Bob Melvin said. “I think the timing is good for that.
