The Inter-League series with the Philadelphia Philles came to a close for the Athletics today at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. Gunnar Hoglund took the mound today against former A’s starter Jesus Luzardo. Luzardo has been dominant in 2025 with a 5-0 record and 1.96 ERA.
Jacob Wilson got the A’s off to the start they hoped for, blasting Luzardo’s first pitch of the day to left centerfield for a home run. That was Wilson’s first-ever leadoff homer. Rooker and Andujar each singled and then Logan Davidson doubled, his first major league hit, to score Rooker and Andujar giving the A’s a 3-0 in the first.
