CHICAGO - Daniel Gossett didn’t have it easy most of his outing Saturday. His teammates made three errors behind him and he had to pitch out of trouble several times.
Nevertheless, Gossett allowed just two runs, both unearned, in earning his first big-league win.He escaped a two-on, no-outs jam unscathed in the fifth, striking out Melky Cabrera, getting Jose Abreu to fly out and Avisail Garcia to pop up. Gossett also worked around a leadoff double and an A’s error in the sixth.
“A special experience and to get out of there with my first win was just the icing on the cake,” Gossett said.
