A’s cut nine players, including Max Muncy

MESA, Ariz. - The A’s had their second round of cuts from big-league camp Sunday and utility infielder Max Muncy was among them.

Muncy, who has been a semi-regular on the big-league roster, wasn’t anticipated to make the Opening Day roster after the A’s acquired Adam Rosales during the offseason. He was designated for assignment during the winter and cleared waivers.

Others sent to minor-league camp Sunday: right-handed reliever Tyler Sturdevant, who was slowed the first week or two with a back problem; left-hander Felix Doubront, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery; infielders Jermaine Curtis, Richie Martin, Rangel Ravelo and Josh Rodriguez; and outfielders Andrew Lambo and Kenny Wilson.
