OAKLAND — Longtime East Oakland resident John Jones III cherishes his memories of hanging out as a teenager at the Eastmont Mall, catching a flick at the Coliseum Drive-in and watching the Raiders stage memorable comebacks in their more intimidating days.
“I remember energy, I remember so many people, that was the first time I had been in an environment with thousands of people together, and I just fell in love with the Raiders from that point on,” Jones said.
