A’s, City of Oakland agree to exclusive negotiating agreement for Coliseum, Howard Terminal

The A’s and the City of Oakland officials have entered into an Exclusive Negotiating Agreement to explore both the Oakland Coliseum and Howard Terminal sites as the team pursues a new stadium, the Bay Area News Group has learned.

City spokesman Karen Boyd confirmed the ENA for both sites.

The A’s are celebrating their 50th anniversary of playing in Oakland at the aging Coliseum and have been vocal in wanting to build a new, privately financed ballpark.

“We want to make it so we’re here (in Oakland) for another 50 years plus,” A’s president Dave Kaval said after the team made an offer this week to purchase the land at the Coliseum site.
