The wait is over. The A's called up highly-touted pitching prospect James Kaprielian on Tuesday and placed pitcher Jordan Weems on the 10-day IL with a strained right latissimus dorsi in a corresponding move.
The Oakland A’s placed right-handed pitcher Jordan Weems on the 10-day injured list retroactive to Aug. 1 with a strained right latissimus dorsi and recalled right-handed pitcher James Kaprielian from their alternate site.

Kaprielian, 26, was the No. 16 pick in the 2015 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees. The A's acquired the right-hander, along with Dustin Fowler and Jorge Mateo, from the Yankees for Sonny Gray on July 31, 2017.
