OAKLAND -- The A's bolstered their bullpen depth on Tuesday, acquiring veteran right-hander Chris Hatcher from the Dodgers in exchange for international slot money totaling $500,000.
A's manager Bob Melvin suggested Hatcher, who was activated from the disabled list Sunday, could join the big league roster soon.
"He's a guy that's had some success in years past, and our people like him," Melvin said, "so you could see him here at some point."
Hatcher was on the Dodgers' Opening Day roster, posting a 4.66 ERA in 26 appearances before landing on the DL June 23 with thoracic inflammation.
