BALTIMORE – The success-starved A’s hit four homers but nearly squandered a five-run lead with some spotty relief pitching but held on to edge the Baltimore Orioles 6-4 on Tuesday night.
Ryon Healy clubbed two homers, Jed Lowrie hit a two-run shot and Khris Davis drilled his 34th in the angst-filled win on a balmy night at Camden Yards.
The triumph in the middle game of a three-game series was much needed for the struggling A’s (55-71), who had lost four of their past five and nine of 13. They had 13 hits but left 10 on base.
