MIAMI - Andrew Triggs had figured that his left hip strain was something minor that might require him to miss just one or two starts, but his timeline is a little more uncertain after the results of an MRI exam.
According to manager Bob Melvin, the MRI performed Monday showed some structural damage in Triggs’ hip - but, Melvin emphasized, it’s unclear if the damage might be old or if it is something new.
In addition, Melvin said, Triggs is dealing with some back issues again, a problem that crops up now and again for the right-hander.
