KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A rotation replacement is charged with leading the Oakland Athletics to a series sweep of the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night.
A's right-hander Jesse Hahn will start instead of Raul Alcantara for the finale of the three-game series. The rookie was removed from the rotation after getting rocked in his first start of the season.
Hahn will oppose Royals left-hander Jason Vargas, who will make his second start after winning Friday at Houston.
"I just go out there and do my job, give the team an opportunity to stay in the game, have a chance to win the game," Vargas said Wednesday.
