OAKLAND – The A’s activated reliever John Axford from the 10-day disabled list on Saturday, but sent another one to the D.L. in his place.
Ryan Dull, the winning pitcher in Friday’s 3-2 walk-off win over the Boston Red Sox, was placed on the D.L. with a right knee strain the team says he suffered during his one scoreless inning of work.
Axford went on the D.L. on April 5 with a strained right shoulder — his first career appearance on the disabled list. He started a rehab appearance with Triple-A Nashville a week ago and didn’t allow a run in three appearances.
