Another A’s pitcher to the DL, another recall from Triple-A

NEW YORK – The A’s will go to the disabled list for a 16th time in less than two months Monday, putting starting pitcher Kendall Graveman on the 10-day DL while activating starting pitcher Daniel Mengden to start Monday’s series opener in Cleveland.

It will be the first big league start this season for Mengden, who was a candidate for the starting rotation prior to spring training before needing foot surgery.

For Graveman, it is the second trip to the DL for his this season, both times for a right shoulder strain. The first time he came off after the 10-day minimum, but this time around it’s likely to take longer.
