Angels top A’s with 3-run homer in 9th

Oakland’s fluid bullpen situation worked beautifully on Opening Night but not quite so well on night two.

With the A’s leading by two in the ninth, Ryan Dull got the call, but he gave up singles to the first two batters of the inning, then Danny Espinosa lofted a home run to left to give the Angels a 7-6 victory at the Coliseum.

Santiago Casilla closed out Monday night’s victory, earning his first save with his new/old team, but manager Bob Melvin has been forthright with the fact that he’d use his relievers differently depending on matchups, pitchers’ availability and results.
