DETROIT — Paul Blackburn opens the A’s short homestand Friday, and even though Blackburn is coming off a rough start at Chicago, pitching coach Scott Emerson likes what he’s seen during Blackburn’s work between starts.
“His last bullpen was the best he’s thrown the baseball since his rehab stint,” Emerson said Thursday. “A lot of it is getting out there, getting your legs underneath you.
