With 6:44 left in the 2nd quarter Notre Dame was in the full throes of a shockingly poor 21-20 lead against the Minutemen. Then, over a period of 24 minutes and 47 seconds the Irish ripped off 41 unanswered points on their way to an easy cover over UMass.

There was a time in the first half when it looked like the Irish were going to coast to an easy win with UMass being left in the dust. With 19 seconds left in the 1st quarter Notre Dame took a 14-0 lead on a nifty little red zone play ending on a DeShone Kizer scamper.
