I spent my Sunday afternoon this past weekend signing books with none other than Notre Dame’s finest, Flash Gordon. And so I thought it was only fitting that this week’s Throwback Thursday should be a nod to the one, the only, Flash Gordon.
With a nickname like “Flash Gordon” you might make the obvious assumption that Darrell “Flash” Gordon was a superhero busy saving the planet earth. While today Darrell Gordon is very much a superhero in the eyes of the many young men whose lives he touches on a daily basis, his beginnings were not as “flashy” as the town he hails from.
