Notre Dame’s offense struggled again, and brings up old questions

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish got a big 35-20 win against the #18 ranked Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday, but it wasn’t a good performance from the offense. After Notre Dame’s loss to Georgia, many thought Ian Book turned a corner with his pocket presence and decision making — but he showed the opposite was the case this week.

Book’s numbers weren’t terrible. He was 17-25 (68%) for 165 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. He was sacked twice and ended up with only 10 yards rushing. Those aren’t terrible — but when you think about the fact that Book only threw for 30 yards in the entire second half, it makes a little uneasy.
