Thus far, it looks like Notre Dame football is well on its way to capturing its first win of the season. As of this writing, it's late in the first half and the Irish are up 28-13. However, mother nature has decided to delay the action for a little bit.
Moments ago, Notre Dame and Purdue returned to the locker rooms due to lightning in the South Bend area. At the time of the delay, there's 1:31 to go in the first half, with the Irish indeed up by 15 points. With it being so close to halftime, this is a bummer, but the two teams are expected to be off the field for at least 30 minutes:
WEATHER ALERT: Lightning has been detected in the vicinity of Notre Dame Stadium.
