The Notre Dame Fighting Irish powered past the Michigan Wolverines in a 2-1 showing Saturday in Ann Arbor. This follows a 3-2 Irish victory on Michigan ice Friday.
First Period
It was the Irish who set the tone in the first period of play. The visitors outshot the Wolverines 7-4, but the two squads headed into the second with a scoreless standing.
Second Period
Despite two Michigan penalties, the Irish did not capitalize on the power play opportunities and the game remained at a 0-0 tie.
Third Period
Notre Dame’s Spencer Stastney snatched the first goal of the game as the third period neared its end and Alex Steeves scored an empty netter not even a minute later.
