Notre Dame Hockey: Irish tie Michigan State 1-1, and win the shootout for the extra Big 10 point

The Irish headed up North to take on the Michigan State Spartans. Notre Dame nearly took it to the last minute to tie it at one goal each, but got the extra conference point in the second OT.

First Period

The first twenty minutes were scoreless, but the Irish proved themselves the most agressive of the two teams on offense. The guys in gold and blue outshot the Spartans 9-3 in the first and at one point in the game doubled the Spartans shots on goal 68-34.

Second Period

After the two squads had moved on from a first period deadlock, It was Michigan State’s Sam Saliba who claimed the first goal of the game in the second period.
