There’s a certain disappointment each spring for fans of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and it has nothing to do with what is happening on the field. On the Friday before the annual Blue-Gold game, fans await the unveiling of Notre Dame’s “The Shirt” for the upcoming season, and most years... they’re pretty bad.
Never mind the fact that they change the color each year because they don’t believe people would ever buy a piece of clothing that may be the same color as one in their wardrobe - it’s generally just ugly.
Committees are great, and they are the backbone of a democratic country, but they are one of the worst tools to use when designing a shirt (or designing anything, really).
