The most recent candidates for the College Football Hall of Fame were named, and the list contains three former Notre Dame players, including new Irish defensive backs coach Todd Lyght. He’ll be joined on the ballot by fellow alums Raghib “Rocket” Ismail and Bob Crable. A total of 73 players and five coaches from FBS join them, as well as 27 players from college football’s lower divisions.
There aren’t many first-ballot inductees, as Notre Dame’s most recent inductee, wide receiver Thom Gatewood had to wait more than 30 years from when he first found his name on a ballot.
