Sooner rather than later, Notre Dame football coach Marcus Freeman was going to have to make a difficult decision at quarterback. On Tuesday, that call finally came in, with CJ Carr being named the starting QB for Week 1 vs. Miami.
This came as a bit of a surprise, as Freeman recently said that there was no timeline for a decision. With Carr being named the starter, the Irish are now ready to move forward with him running the offense. With Carr being a redshirt freshman too, this is his team for the long haul.
