Notre Dame Football: New Mexico Lobos Preview

The awkward bye week is finally over and Week 2 of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football season is finally here, folks.

On Labor Day evening in Louisville, your Fighting Irish squad “took care of business” against the Louisville Cardinals, winning fairly comfortably in a 35-17 game that never felt as comfortable as an 18-point victory would imply.

Now, after having last weekend off, the Irish open their home game slate Saturday afternoon with a match-up against former head coach Bob Davie’s New Mexico Lobos. Davie will not be in attendance due to a health scare suffered during the Lobos’ week one win over Sam Houston State, and so New Mexico even more so comes into the game as plucky underdogs with nothing to lose, considering ND is favored by roughly 5 touchdowns.
