Ever since Brian Kelly has taken over the Notre Dame football program, they have been on the verge of true greatness. They’ve had some good teams, and others that shared a border with the elite. However, they have not, to this point, made it to the point of being a team that goes down as one of the great Notre Dame teams to play the game.
This is largely due to Kelly’s teams falling into pitfalls. Traps. Last season, road games late in the year kept the Irish from a New Year’s Six bowl game. The same thing happened in 2015.
