It’s been a big year for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and the head coach is being honored this offseason. Brian Kelly was just named as the AP Coach of the year over Nick Saban of the Alabama Crimson Tide and Josh Heupel of the UCF Knights.
Brian Kelly was already the recipient of the Home Depot Coach of the Year earlier this month, but this award carries a little more weight behind it with the AP billing.
After a disaster of a season in 2016, Brian Kelly has led Notre Dame to a 22-3 record over the past two years and ready to make a splash in the college football playoff as the #3 team in the nation.
