Notre Dame Football: Brian Kelly is “pleased with the purposefulness”

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish had their first real practice of the 2019 season on Sunday when they took the field at Culver. While the Irish won’t be in pads for another week, it was still a day that is important to the program because it starts to set the tone for the preseason work.

“The first couple of days is like the first day of school. Everybody is so excited and sometimes the volume gets a little high, so I wanted to keep the veterans pulled back a little bit today. We gave some of the young guys some work.
