Notre Dame Fighting Irish news: Gold medals, Heisman hype, a program hitting reset

The United States has won its fourth consecutive FIBA U19 World Cup, and that means that Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball head coach Niele Ivey has her second gold medal as an assistant on the team.

Last summer, Ivey earned her first gold medal with USA Basketball, as she served as an assistant coach for the 2024 FIBA U18 AmeriCup in Colombia. She was also a court coach at the 2023 USA Women's U19 National Team trials. All of this is nice prep for Ivey, who faces a make-or-break season in South Bend after losing quite a bit of talent off a team that was viewed as underachieving in the NCAA Tournament last winter.
