While one certainly hopes that a new rule change will apply to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, it is a significant change for college football. While the sport moves closer to only having one transfer portal, that will open on January 2 and run until January 16, the NCAA also made one change official in that when a coach is fired or leaves, a player will have 15 days after a new coach is hired to find a new school if they want.
However, they will also have to wait five days after the change is made.
