The Fighting Irish are already looking to the 2026 football season, especially after the snub from the College Football Playoff. Granted, that doesn't mean the Irish won't have some key position groups that they will have to bring some players into.
One group that Notre Dame really needs to bolster in 2026 will be the wide receiver group. Second leading receiver Malachi Fields is most likely heading to the NFL, and Jordan Faison should be back. However, Faison needs some help catching passes from quarterback CJ Carr.
Notre Dame will have some great wide receivers coming in the recruiting class, but if they want an experienced guy, the transfer portal is the way to go.
