To the surprise of many, Notre Dame has fallen to No. 10 in the final College Football Playoff rankings before the bracket reveal on Sunday. This is a huge shock to Fighting Irish fans, as this seriously puts Notre Dame's spot in the playoff in jeopardy. With two more conference champions needing spots in the playoffs, No. 10 is the cutoff spot, and that is where Notre Dame has fallen.
The biggest problem for all of this is the fact that Notre Dame's fate is in the hands of other teams now. If BYU beats Texas Tech in the Big 12 Championship, then that would cause the committee to have to put the Cougars in, and with where they are right now, Notre Dame would be out.
